Here you can find near real time waveforms from many stations in Italy and around the world. To have a full coverage of the wavforms produced by the Italian Experimental Seismic Network (that is the italian Public Seismic Network) click here. ![]() ![]() ![]() The following image is drawn as a velocity vector module of the three components reported above. ![]() What is a velocity vector module? Each seismometer component express the velocity of ground of its axis; the first three diagrams plot respectively the vertical, north-south and east-west motion. The real velocity to what the seismometer (and thus the ground) is subjected is the resultant force of these three orthogonal "vectors". Although a physical 3D vector cannot be represented in a simple plot as this fourth diagram it is usefuil to evaluate the absolute velocity the ground detected during time. The plot represent the absolute module of the ground velocity. |
