What is a velocity vector module?
Each seismometer component express the velocity of ground of its axis; the first three diagrams plot respectively the vertical,  north-south and east-west motion. The real velocity to what the seismometer (and thus the ground) is subjected is the resultant force of these three orthogonal "vectors". Although a physical 3D vector cannot be represented in a simple plot as this fourth diagram it is usefuil to evaluate the absolute velocity the ground detected during time. The plot represent the absolute module of  the ground velocity.
